"Bucket List" 2013

So, I decided that I am pretty boring..... and that no one would want to read about what I ate or what I did at work. :) That got me thinking that I want to actually do stuff this year. This inspired me to create a bucket list for this year so that I can write about my awesome adventures. That would give me motivation and hopefully make it seem like my life is more exciting. :)

I wanted to break this us into categories so that I can see what areas I'm improving in. I'm super excited because there are some things I've always wanted to do on this list, but have never really perused very hard.

The 4 categories that I chose to work on were School, Spiritual, Personal, and of course the all inclusive Fun/ Other category.

I'll start off with school... because it's shortest.

School
*Get Associates degree
*Finish Bachelor's degree in 3 more semesters
(technically that will be 2014, but I am closer than I thought so this counts).

Spiritual
*Read the complete Bible.
(I figured that if I do 5 pages per day I can read the whole thing in a year.) This will take dedication and everyday effort, but we will see how much I have to crunch in at the end. I also am nervous about the Old Testament because let's face it.... It's confusing. :)
*100 hours of service.
This can include any small act of service. I believe that when you are helping and focusing on others that you are going to be happier and have a lot more energy in your everyday life.
I actually helped out a man once by just giving him a sandwich and he was so grateful it was just amazing being able to put a smile on someone else's face. It's definitely contagious.
*Go to the temple 50 times this year
(this will mean at least once a week) :) I just love the peace the temple brings ... even if you just sit near it you can feel something special.
Finally *Temple marriage or go on a mission
Now... this one isn't really up to me, but I know if I don't do one now I will definitely do it later. So no matter what I will be doing both of these. I may just be older when one comes about. This one isn't really in my control  if you know what I mean. ;) I just know for sure one or the other will happen this year.

Personal

* Learn to sew.
I got an awesome sewing machine for Christmas..... I just don't know how to use it. :) I can sew a bean bag if anyone needs one though. :)
* Go hiking at least 30 times this Summer
This one was inspired by my amazing boyfriend Jarom Later, and I hope I can do a lot of this with him!
*Blog at least once per  2 weeks.
I would say every week... but school is coming up and my life may not be too exciting when that starts. (18 credits!!!)
*Learn the Banjo
I don't know why I had the desire to do this, but it all started about 6 months ago. It's a funky instrument and I don't know a lot of people who play so I thought that would be LEGIT!
*Dejunk my room
This may take all year!

And Finally the BEST category
FUN!!!!!!! (WAHOOOO)
*Try a new food
I'm thinking way out of the box. I've done Sushi, bugs (from China and even a weird bacon flavored Grasshopper for a dare from my track team), so I don't really know what this will be.
*Snowboarding
I'll let you know if I die. I'm prone to accidents and being a klutz.
*Take a road trip
This may have to be to somewhere close if I take my car.... I've only been able to get a gallon at a time in. Dang ghetto, but awesome car. :P
*Visit my grandma in Colorado.
This could kill 2 birds with one stone here.

and last but not least my FAVORITE GOAL!!!

I've always wanted to be a mascot. I was supposed to be a tooth for my company party at the pool, but when they took it to the dry cleaners so it wouldn't make me pass out from the nasty leftover B.O. they left it at the office.
I would love to go to Chick Fil a and say... "I'll work for a Chicken sandwich if you let me be your cow!" HAHA that would be epic.
I wouldn't be the lame mascot who just stands there. If anyone knows me I'd be jammin' out and dancin' all over the place. I am seriously going to do this... or at least go back to my work and be the tooth. Either way pictures and awesomeness will follow.

Anyways, that's my Bucket list for 2013 so be sure to check in and see my crazy self. I also am entertaining the idea of having a guest blogger, my roommate Shelby, because apparently we were supposed to start a blog together and I missed that memo. She also said she is too flaky to start her own which totally makes sense now that I've started my own. :)

My dad wants me to watch Star Wars with him so I guess I"m done here! :)
PEACE!

RANDOM THOUGHT!
(So... I have so many pictures and random memories I think I'm going to go through and post random ones. I really am a memory hoarder. I think digital cameras were invented for me because I would be broke and buried in a mountain of my memories in the form of pictures.)
This pictures is slightly embarrassing (for everyone) because you are probably thinking... it's a goose "MAN UP". Well.... you weren't there, you didn't see, or hear, that demon goose. It literally sounded like a dinosaur and wouldn't leave me alone. :) Now.... I'm one for loving dinosaurs... but this goose was too much! I wanted to spread the love to other geese but NOOOO... Stupid goose!I wanted to kick it, but I'm not that mean. (And I didn't want P.E.T.A. after me.) :) I'm sure my siblings got a good laugh that day.
I have a feeling this may be more sporadic than I thought. :) Oh well.
So, I just have to say that I have THE most AMAZING boyfriend ever! First off I am just very blessed to have him in my life. :)

My awesome camera! (Taken with my digital camera)
He let me open my Christmas present early this year which was pretty awesome. Now before I tell you what it was I just have to say he was dropping some pretty elusive tips. I'm not going to lie I was a bit suspicious that it was something else. When he says something like "I splurged this year" and "You will be so excited, you have been wanting this for a while" you begin to imagine something circular and sparkly if you know what I mean ;).

When I opened my gift I still cried! He got me a vintage camera! :) I have been really into photography and just mentioned once that I was looking for a cool vintage camera. The one he got was a Rollei 35 which is the "2nd smallest 35mm camera ever made". The camera came complete with about 14 different kinds of film including black and white, expired (which makes it look like those Instagram pictures on the vintage settings... but more legit), and even some basic film that is for messing around with.
Jarom and I were able to take the camera out and have some fun with it.

I still need a little more practice, especially since I'm so used to the modern digital cameras that do all the work for you. (We are so spoiled. Remotes that change the channel for us so we don't have to get up, spell checkers on our computer so we don't have to know how to spell -which I am a terrible speller-, and anything imaginable that is automatic.)

Here are some pictures that I took with my AWESOME new camera! Thanks Jarom! :) I LOVE YA!!
I'm still getting used to the manual settings so don't judge too hard ;).
1st picture. O, Christmas Tree! :)

Binny and Nanni

Jarom in his new shirt.
I think I over exposed this one, but I LOVED the effect! :)

Testing close shot

Misty Mountain
The lighting was so amazing around 8:30 am.

Jarom and I
We used the flash and it was SUPER BRIGHT! But again I love the effect.
It feels like an old picture I would see of my Grandma in the 70's.

Facebook Anonymous Meeting

To start off, My name is Brittney (this is the part if I were in an AA meeting everyone would say, "Hi, Brittney" in dull monotone), and yes, I (am) a Facebook addict.

What are the symptoms of being a Facebook addict?
Here are just a few
1.When you keep telling yourself you won't get on and 2 minutes later you just happen to stumble upon the big blue log in page. You just HAVE to type in your user name and password.
2. Famous last words "It will only be a second". "I can control myself". "I really should be going to bed/doing homework"
HAHA ..... Yeah right.
15 notifications (10 of which are random posts or farmville requests), 56 uploaded pictures of your cat in different outfits you forced on him, denying 4 friend requests from people you either hated in high school or old people you have never seen in your LIFE, 30 stalkings (including 3 random people you don't even know), and saying to yourself quite often "How did I get here" or "Why am I still on?"

Sadly this is what I caught myself doing, so to relieve my addiction I decided to go cold turkey. This meant goodbye Facebook. I decided I wasn't ready to drop completely off the face of the earth. I wanted a way for people to kind of know what was going on in my life, especially for those who may not have my phone number or who have become so technologically advanced that they have forgotten how to maneuver a pencil to form words on paper. This blog is for you.... and for my personal ranting pleasure.

I also think that I may be getting a rare form of youth Alzheimer's so storing my memories somewhere will help me stay sane. ;) (don't judge me if you have heard my stories a million and one times). Those closest to me would testify of these things. :)

I have realized that I'm not one for being very consistent with my journal writing (oops). Although I do carry a love for writing, which I believe came from my dad, I have a hard time "finding time" to write. I love to take pictures, and collect what my mom would consider "junk" because it takes a moment and stores it forever. I get very sentimental over small, somewhat insignificant things because of the deep emotional connections I seem to find quite easily.

I chose the name "Memorabilia Minute" because most of these entries will be short, easy, and hopefully fun to read (and write). This may be because I'm either lazy or it will be easier for everyone to catch a glimpse of my life. As far as Memorabilia goes it is defined as "things that are remarkable and worthy of remembrance". Although most of these experiences will not be remarkable or even remembered by anyone besides me and maybe a select few they will forever hold a spot in my heart. (Maybe not my brain though.... remember.... Alzheimer's.)

So.... any of my random readers out there, please forgive me for any spelling and grammar mistakes, spell check on here can only do so much! :)

With that I say "GOODBYE Facebook addiction." We'll see how long I can stay sober"

Rawr (means I love you in dinosaur) for now
